Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18 the 18th of November, 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition, she placed among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix finished high school and subsequently signed a pro-contract with Adidas. In 2004, she began her studies at an institution called the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. The following year, Felix won the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting a junior world record by running 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007 she defended that title, beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top third in each of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
